Three Generations of Painting Experience From 1977 to 2025
My grandfather started Nullmeyer Painting & Decorating in 1977, and my father followed with Keen & Kleen Student Painters in 1986 in Barrie, Ontario. I spent many summers painting as a kid, learning the trade the way it gets learned best; on the job, from people who knew what they were doing. Both my father and grandfather have since passed away, and Third Generation Painters operates independently of those prior businesses, but the work ethic and the standards they passed down are still the foundation of how we run things today.
Back to the Trade
After stepping back from the industry to attend business school in 2016, I spent five years in Toronto working in sales and marketing. By the summer of 2020, I was ready to get back to my roots and started Third Generation Painters in Thornbury, Ontario. In January 2023, I set permanent roots in the SilverStar Foothills with the goal of serving the Greater Vernon area. As a former competitive skier, living full-time in the mountains had always been a dream. As of spring 2026, we've built two teams of two to three painters, with plans to keep adding crews in the coming years.
