Cabinet Refinishing in Kelowna, BC
If your kitchen still works but the cabinets look dated, cabinet refinishing gives you a fresh, factory-smooth finish without the cost and upheaval of tearing everything out. It's the option a lot of Kelowna homeowners land on once they realize their cabinets are structurally sound. In our experience, we take tired oak, maple, or dark-stained doors and bring them back in a clean, modern finish built to stand up to daily kitchen life.
Refinishing VS. Replacing
There are individuals who tend to call us and inquire about cabinets, start out by pricing a full replacement, and then see the number. If the boxes are solid (which most kitchens in Kelowna are), refinishing gets you the look of a brand-new kitchen for a fraction of what new cabinetry costs, and without weeks of your kitchen being torn apart. We focus on full-kitchen refinishing rather than one-off doors, so the whole space comes together as one cohesive, finished result.
Why We Spray In A Dedicated Shop
You don't want cabinet doors sprayed inside your kitchen because a lived-in space is full of dust and overspray, and you simply can't get a clean, even finish there. So the doors and drawer fronts come off and travel to our dedicated spray shop in Vernon, where we finish them in an environment that is controlled and monitored professionally by us. However, there are times when the boxes and frames aren’t able to come off, and in this case, we would carefully mask and spray right in your kitchen. The result of this would be a smooth, quality finish with no brush marks and no roller texture.

A Finish Built To Be Touched
Cabinets get opened, wiped down, bumped, and handled every single day, so the finish has to be far tougher than standard wall paint. We use a professional two-component (2K) cabinet coating with a catalyzed finish and a hardener that cures hard and stands up to daily wear, cleaning, and the odd knock from a pot or a kid. It's the difference between a finish that still looks sharp years from now and one that starts chipping by next spring.
Our Process
We take the doors and drawer fronts off and label them, then give every surface a light sand and a thorough degrease so the coating has something clean to grip. We prime, fill and touch up any dings, then apply two coats of our 2K finish. Doors and drawers are sprayed at the shop, and boxes and frames are masked and sprayed in place. Once everything has cured, we reinstall, adjust, and leave you with a kitchen that looks and feels new.
Owner-Operated, Same Crew Every Time
Brook will walk through your kitchen with you, write your quote, and handle the details, so you're dealing with the owner, not a call centre. The same crew does the work from the first door to the last, with no rotating subcontractors, which is how the finish stays consistent across the whole kitchen. It's craftsmanship you can actually point to.

Every kitchen is different, so we don't price by the door. What your project costs depends on how many doors and drawers you have, the condition they're in, whether you're changing colour, and how much prep the surfaces need. Book a walkthrough, and Brook will give you a clear, itemized quote for your specific kitchen no guesswork.

Partly. The doors and drawer fronts come off and are sprayed at our dedicated shop in Vernon, where we can control dust and get a clean, even finish. The boxes and frames that stay put get masked off and sprayed in place in your kitchen. It's the setup that gives you a proper factory-smooth result rather than something sprayed in a dusty, lived-in room.
-
It depends on the size of your kitchen, but the biggest factor is doing it right: proper prep and full cure time between coats so the finish hardens the way it's meant to. We won't rush that stage, since it's what makes the finish last. When we quote your kitchen, we'll give you a realistic timeline and let you know how long you'll be without your doors.

Yes, that's the whole point of using a two-component (2K) catalyzed coating instead of ordinary cabinet paint. It cures to a hard, durable finish designed for surfaces that get touched and cleaned constantly, so it resists the chips, scuffs, and wear that show up fast on a softer finish. Cabinets take more daily abuse than any other painted surface in your home, and we choose the product accordingly.
